Officials award local with rank of Eagle Scout

Carter Hartings of Boy Scout Troop 355, was awarded the rank of Eagle Scout, the highest recognition in the Boy Scouts of America, during his Eagle Board Review on July 29, 2026. Hartings is the son of John and Angie Hartings, of Richwood.
Carter has been a Scout for more than 11 years and is part of Troop 355, which is sponsored by the Marysville First Presbyterian Church. He achieved the award of Arrow of Light in February of 2020 through Pack 634 of Marysville.
Through scouting, Hartings has learned outdoor skills, grown as a citizen and leader and contributed many of his hours to community service. He has served his troop as scribe, responsible for recording and dist…
