NU remains steady on state report card

North Union Local Schools received an overall rating of 3.5 stars for this year’s state report card, which is the same score from 2025 despite growth in two categories.

Superintendent Justin Ufferman explained that, since the overall star rating relies on complex formulas, significant gains in individual categories don’t always trigger a shift in overall score.

“The state report card provides a helpful high-level snapshot, but it certainly doesn’t tell the whole story of North Union,” Ufferman said in an email.
