Lady Cats use strong first quarter performance to topple Fairbanks
A 14-2 run in the first quarter got the North Union Ladycats in control and they rode that spurt forward to defeat Fairbanks 66-42 last Monday at North Union.
Five different players scored during the run that ultimately led to a 17-9 lead by the end of the quarter.
“We liked to get into a flow where everybody can score,” NU Head Coach Mitchell Loomis said. “One of our valuable assets is to share the wealth offensively. We don’t run a lot of designed sets for one person.”
A three-point goal by Jolie Porter gave Fairbanks a 3-2 lead with 6:20 left, but the Lady Panthers went the next five minutes scoring just two points.
