Magnetic Springs sewer project set to go to bid

The bid opening for the Magnetic Springs sanitary sewer project was on the agenda Wednesday at the Union County Commissioners meeting, which is the next step in getting construction started on the village’s wastewater system.

“After the bids open up then we will have an actual price for construction and a contractor. The project will be constructed in 2026,” said Craig Mescher of Access Engineering Solutions. The cost of future construction won’t be revealed until bids are accepted by the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA). Mescher said they have to go through the EPA because it has money in the project, so they have to get the bid information and motion to accept it at its meeting in December.
