John Edward Bell

John Edward Bell, 79 of Richwood, passed away Friday August 8, 2025 at his home on Sunnybrook Farm near Claibourne.

He was born December 7, 1945 to the late John Russell and Lydia (Woleslagel) Bell. He was also preceded in death by his wife Linda (Carter), they were married August 1, 1971 and she died January 15, 2020.

John Ed was a 1964 graduate of Richwood High School. He was involved in farming until he was drafted into the United States Army in 1967.

When he was in the Army, he served as a chaplain’s assistant in Germany for two years. When he returned home, he went to work on the family farm.

John Ed was a lifetime member of the Baccarat American Legion Post #40 and the VFW #870, both…
