Summerfest interest raises concern for streets; parking

News of the Richwood Summerfest celebration is reaching thousands – raising council discussion to close streets and address parking concerns.

Richwood Mayor Scott Jerew said that the promotional video for the festival had surpassed 29,000 views.

“Its been watched a lot, it turned out better than I thought it would,” Jerew said.

Officials are preparing for an estimated 500 people showing up at Summerfest on Aug. 9 , though some organizers believe there will be more than that.

At the regular meeting on Monday, Jerew said that he would like to shut down Lynn Street for the festival.
