North Union approves new scoreboard

The North Union Board of Education approved a contract that will install a brand new, sponsor- funded scoreboard at the stadium.

The board voted unanimously to approve two scoreboard contracts at its meeting on Monday – a $267,759 contract with Daktronics to provide the scoreboard and a $72,728 contract with Megalift to install the scoreboard – for a total of $340,487.

Superintendent Justin Ufferman said that a great majority of that sum will be paid by sponsors and individual donors. He said that they have seven sponsors, most of which are local businesses. The school board will only be paying for the sound system piece – which Ufferman said is still being hashed out – however he said it will be “minimal.”
