OSU professor gives data on ticks

Ohio has more ticks than it used to and there are more species that carry more diseases – some of which are here in Union County.
That is according to Tim McDermott, a professor of agriculture and natural resources at Ohio State University who presented new and comprehensive data to county elected officials and department heads at their monthly meeting Tuesday.
McDermott told the group that Ohio has seen a rise in tick types in a relatively short amount of time.
