Richwood, Triad voters approve tax measures

Richwood’s proposed 1.2-mill, five-year tax levy for the May 6 election passed by 15 votes – with 101 total votes cast, according to unofficial results from the Union County Board of Elections. Richwood Mayor Scott Jerew said in a text that he would like to thank the voters for passing the renewal. This levy is now set to generate $32,474 annually for the purpose of current operating expenses for the village.

The Triad Local School District saw its proposed income tax pass at the polls, as all three counties appeared to vote in favor of the tax, according to unofficial reports from the boards of election of Union, Logan and Champaign counties. Triad had proposed a 0.5%, five-year income tax, a renewal of the district’s existing levy.
