County sorts out New California property access issue

Union County officials have an agreement on an access management issue with property in New California.

At the regular Union County Commissioners meeting this week, the board voted to allow access to the property along U.S. 42 and Industrial Parkway. The agreement is a compromise from what the developer originally wanted and what the county engineer was comfortable doing.

“The parties have been working since the hearing you held back in January and have reached a compromise agreement,” said Thayne Gray, assistant county prosecuting attorney. “The compromise agreement is embodied in the memorandum of understanding that’s been presented to you that calls for a right-in only access from Industrial Parkway at the souther…
