Gazette begins its Fifty-Fifth Volume: With this issue, the Gazette begins its fifty-fifth year as a chronicler of the events of the community. When the paper was started by Colonel James Vaughn in 1872, it marked the beginning of a new epoch in Richwood’s history. The paper today ranks among the oldest of local institutions.
