Grant will help buy Narcan, naloxone for Richwood

The Union County Health Department (UCHD) received a $100,000 state grant that will go toward reducing drug harm in the county’s rural communities.

At the regular meeting of the UCHD Board of Health on Feb. 18, Shawn Sech, director of health promotion and planning, introduced the Harm Reduction Expansion grant from the Ohio Department of Health, which will help fund the work done in partnership with the Union County Drug Free Coalition in the areas of Richwood and Milford Center for a year.

“So the good news is this will fund harm reduction efforts for another year and there is an opportunity for a year-two continuation with this,” Sech said.
