Sheriff’s Report

From Union County Sheriff’s Office reports:

Deputies were dispatched to a residence on West park Street in Magnetic Springs on July 15 at 10:01 p.m. to investigate a report of a person experiencing a mental health crisis. No report was taken.

A deputy responded to the 10000 block of Route 47 on July 16 at 6:09 a.m. for reports of a property damage crash involving a Toyota Corolla that struck a deer. No report was taken.

Samuel G. Hauerspeger, 24, of Marysville, was taken into custody on July 16 at 8:19 a.m. when deputies assisted the Union County Adult Probation Officers for his probation violation. He was transported to the Tri-County Regional Jail by the probation officers.

Hayden R. Woods, 31, of Marysville, was arrested on July 17 at 3:06 a.m. after deputies and units from the Northwestern Joint Fire District responded to Bear Swamp Road near Shirk Road for a possible injury crash involving a 2013 Chevrolet Equinox. Following the investigation, Woods was charged with operating a vehicle while under the influence and displaying fictitious plates. He was transported to the Tri-County Regional Jail.

A deputy investigated a dispute between mother and daughter over money that occurred at a residence on South Main Street in Magnetic Springs on July 17 at 3:30 p.m. No report was taken.

Deputies responded near the intersection of Route 47 and Route 31 to investigate a property damage crash involving a Chevrolet Silverado that was struck by debris that fell off a trailer on July 18 at 3:44 p.m. A report was taken.

Deputies were dispatched to a business in the 23000 block of Route 4 to investigate a criminal damaging report involving a broken window on July 19 at 4:44 a.m. A report was taken

Emily D. Tyler, 35, of West Mansfield, was issued a citation for failure to maintain an assured and clear distance ahead after police responded to the 25000 block of Route 287 on July 20 at 6:30 a.m. for reports of an injury crash involving a 1999 Buick Century that was struck from behind by a 2012 Honda Civic. One person was transported to Memorial Hospital and a crash report was taken.

Kristopher W. Sparling, 47, of Mount Victory, was arrested on July 20 at 3:17 p.m. after deputies went to a residence in the 20000 block of Treaty Line Road to take Sparling into custody for an outstanding arrest warrant out of the Wayne County Sheriff’s Office. Sparling was then transported to the Tri-County Regional Jail to await extradition.

A deputy was called to a residence in the 29000 block of McMahan Road for an inactive custody dispute on July 20 at 5:20 p.m. No report was taken.

Bethany R. Crofut, 30, of Richwood, was taken into custody by a deputy who met with a Marysville Police Officer for an outstanding arrest warrant on July 20 at 6:41 p.m. Crofut was then transported to the Tri-County Regional Jail.

From Ohio State Highway Patrol reports:

Jahammond D. Lindsey, 33, of Columbus, was issued a citation for except when directed to proceed on Monday at 3:44 p.m. after police responded to a crash on Route 347 and Route 4. Lindsey was operating a 2023 Ford Transit when coming up to a stop sign while traveling southeast on Route 347. While Lindsey was at the stop sign, a 2012 Chevrolet Cruze was traveling southwest on Route 4 with no stop sign. Lindsey entered the intersection before the Chevrolet had passed, causing the Chevrolet to strike Lindsey’s Ford on the driver’s side rear. The Ford sustained minor damage, but the Chevrolet had disabling damage to the front with one occupant sustained minor injuries.

From Marysville Division of Police reports:

John H. Boer, 72, of Richwood, was arrested on July 18 at 8:04 p.m. for disorderly conduct intoxication. The arrest occurred after police were dispatched to a grocery store on the 900 block of Colemans Crossing at 5:01 p.m. for reports of Boer committing disorderly conduct.

Gloria V. Combs, 28, of North Lewisburg, was arrested on July 19 at 12:58 a.m. for driving under the influence. Combs was arrested after police responded to the 300 block of East Sixth Street and South Oak Street on Saturday at 1:56 a.m. for an individual driving under the influence.
