100 YEARS AGO
From July 16, 1925
Our Birthday – With the current number, the Gazette begins a new volume, the fifty-fourth since the paper was established in 1872. We are grateful to our patrons and the many loyal friends who have helped to make the gazette a real home newspaper. During the past few days, several subscribers who have taken the paper since its earliest days have renewed their subscriptions. There are a few who have taken the paper ever since its first issue. We would be pleased to hear from each of these. When the list is completed, we will publish these names as “charter” members of our large family.
