Rayl has served many roles for county; announces retirement

A Union County employee with more than three decades of experience in public service has retired.

The Board of Union County Commissioners announced recently that Letitia Rayl is retiring from the office after nearly 35 years with the county, including 18 years of service in their office.

“I worked with a lot of great people over the years,” she said. “For that, I’m thankful.”

Rayl is stepping away after an extended leave from the office going back to the first part of this year. She cited a variety of reasons and noted that she is actually a few years past when she could have retired. Leaving had to do with personal reasons, in…
