NU Board fights back on state budget

The North Union School Board is rallying its members and other families in the community to speak up about the state budget amidst concerns in the reduction of the district’s reserve funds.

During the legislative report at the regular meeting of the school board on Monday, board member Bradley DeCamp said that the current language of the state budget puts a limit of 30% of the school’s operating budget that can be kept in reserve funding.

“We’re approximately 70% in reserves,” DeCamp said.

He said that the board drafted a letter of opposition regarding the reserve funding issue and that it was headed to the Ohio Senate.
