Richwood Library goes viral

By By Kyle Meddles, Richwood Gazette

The Richwood Public Library has become a viral sensation.

On March 25, the library’s social media team posted a short video to their Instagram and TikTok accounts promoting their library cards. Exactly a week later, the post has been viewed nearly six million times total on Instagram and TikTok, with a combined 620,000 likes and 3,800 comments between the two sites.

“We have lots of silly Tik-Toks that we’ve done in the past, but this one definitely took off,” Richwood Public Library director Audrey Deel said. “It was kind of a crazy thing.”

Deel said that adult services specialist Moriah Marquis, who posted the video, has been helping out to expand the library’s social media profiles.
