Baldwin gets 15 years

Former Union County Humane Agent Steffen Baldwin has been sentenced to 15.5 years in prison and will never be able to own animals again.

In a criminal sentencing hearing on March 13, Judge Daniel T. Hogan issued Baldwin’s sentence where he was convicted of 32 felony charges.

Baldwin, 44, whose court-listed address is 3235 Trout Creek Ct., St. Augustine, Florida, stood trial on Jan. 8, 2024, accused of 39 total felony counts. The bench trial lasted for three weeks, where it saw 58 witnesses testify and 303 exhibits admitted.

Baldwin was convicted of felony charges including one count of bribery, 12 counts of telecommunications fraud, four counts of tampering with records, 11 counts of cruelty to animals…
