Union County will not partner on airport hangar project

Union County will not be a guarantor for the Airport Authority’s planned T-Hangar project.

The decision pushed the group to discuss new options for the plan that looks to bring 15 additional T-Hangar units to the airport.

At the regular meeting of the Airport Authority on Tuesday, Vice President Philip LaPointe led the quorum with members John Popio, Shaun Bailey and Ken Denman in the absence of Airport Authority President Steve Koenig and members Bruce Rausch and Bob Chapman.

LaPointe said what stopped the county from participating with the loan process was a concern about the finances.
