ODOT will fund $500K in work on Rt. 47, 37

The Ohio Department of Transportation (ODOT) is looking for permission from Richwood to pay and conduct $500,000 worth of roadway improvements on the main village thoroughfares next year.

During a recent meeting of council, members voted unanimously to approve the first reading of a consent legislation that would allow ODOT to conduct an asphalt overlay project in the village for 2027.

Hannah Salem, public information officer for ODOT District 6, said that the project involves paving two sections of road.

“On Route 37, crews will place a fresh layer of asphalt and add new striping between Oak Street and Beatty Avenue,” Salem explained in an email. “The project will also include shoulder repairs, al…
