UCSO facility could move and developers may pitch in

Union County officials said developers are open to the idea of helping relocate the sheriff’s office training facility on U.S. 36.

Administrator Bill Narducci said he and Sheriff Mike Justice recently met with developer Bart Barok, of Rockford Development Investments, on the subject and that the conversation was positive. He said the developer, working within the Marysville East project area, was on board with potentially defraying costs of the move.

“From a broad sense, there’s a lot of details that are out there,” he said. “As they’ve communicated to us and it’s been out there in the pubic, they’re open to helping us relocate.”
