Memorial Day was fittingly observed in Richwood. Appropriate exercises were conducted by the W.R.C. and the American Legion at Claiborne. A martial band played and a uniformed firing squad from the Legion fired a volley. The graves of the soldier dead were decorated by the children. Rev. W.T. Williams delivered an excellent address. Only ten of the veterans of the Civil War were able to attend the services.

The Wilkins Factory Store, for thirty-five years conducted under the firm name, Robinson & Wilkins, has passed to the ownership of Lee Wilkins, elder son of J.M. Wilkins, one of the founders.
