Residents near Magnetic Springs can receive sewer tap waivers

The Union County Health Department (UCHD) will waive plumbing fees for residents outside of Magnetic Springs who choose to abandon their old sewage system and connect to the new Magnetic Springs sanitary sewer project.

At a recent meeting of the UCHD Board of Health, the board unanim ously approved waiving fees for residents outside of village limits wishing to connect to the new sewer system while the project is ongoing. The vote includes waiving up to $200 of plumbing permit fees per-structure if rerouting work is needed inside or outside the structure to connect to the sewer.
