Local event celebrates area heroes

Touch-a-truck at North Union will host over 30 agencies

On Oct. 3, dozens of area agencies will bring everything from helicopters to police Corvettes as part of one big toucha- truck event at North Union.

The goal of the event is in the name: “America 250 – Celebrate the Heroes Among Us.”

Organizer Gail DeGood-Guy described the event as not just a touch-a-truck, but an opportunity for people of all ages to meet and thank the people who keep the community safe.

“We’ve been working on this for months,” DeGood-Guy said during a recent meeting of the North Union Board of Education. “This is huge.”
