A former police chief and staple member of the Richwood community has hung up his many different hats after serving key roles in the village for over 30 years.

Monte Asher retired from his position as village administrator on Wednesday at the age of 61, marking the end of his career as a public servant for the people of Richwood.

“Richwood is very supportive. The place has the support of the community,” Asher said. “Very good people live here, and that’s what makes it easy to serve the community. I’m just glad that they give me the opportunity to serve 30 years here you know? I’m really thankful for that.”
