Council to pursue renewal of road levy in November

A pair of council issues saw decisions on Monday evening during Richwood’s village council meeting, including a resolution on the village’s ordinances for food trucks and an expiring road levy.

Council agreed to go to the ballot in November with a renewal for the expiring road repair and maintenance levy, which will continue to generate about $100,000 annually for the village if it passes in the Nov. 3 general election. The threeyear, 3-mill levy curr ently collects at an effective rate of 1.8-mills.

Despite agreeing to go to the ballot, some council members expressed concerns regarding its chance to pass.
