Local veteran recognized

From Gazette staff reports

Richwood veteran Gail DeGood-Guy is being recognized as part of the VFW’s Still Serving campaign that celebrates veterans who continue to serve after the military.

DeGood-Guy is still serving by being the voice and face of veterans in her small hometown.

After 24 years in the military, she currently serves as the veteran representative for Richwood’s America 250 committee, helping plan the community’s year-long celebration. She is also a guest speaker for Memorial Day and Veterans Day programs at the local elementary school. She also holds a role in the town’s Christmas parade and volunteers on numerous community committees.

“I love representing veterans in my small hometown,” DeGood-Guy said. “It keeps me involved, and I’m able to put everything I learned in the military to good use.”
