Wildcat grapplers find success at Marysville Invitational

Girls and Boys at Marysville Invitational North Union also competed in a boys and girls tournament at Marysville over the weekend.

In the girls tournament, Anistyn Wilson and Jessanie Pfister each took a first place while Madi Goad picked up a second-place finish. Wilson won the 100-pound division and Pfister topped the 135-140 bracket. Goad was second at 155.

Also placing were Allana Smith (third,115)), Kathleen Converse (fourth, 145)), Kylynn Thompson (fourth, 235) and Sage King (fifth, 110).

Preston Larson was the champion of the boys 285-pound division. Also placing were Luke Brown (third, 190), Brody Rote (fourth, 144), Logan Lewis (fifth, 215) and Korey Ransome (190).

North Union finished in fifth place in the Mad River Division of the Central Buckeye Conference boys wrestling tournament. The Wildcats totaled 55 points.

Graham ran away with the title, scoring 299 points. Mason Andrews was the top placer for North Union, finishing in second place in the 190-piound division. He went 2-1 in the tournament, winning his two matches by pin.

Also placing were Corey Gilliam (fifth, 157), Jason Rankin (fifth, 285), Collin Welch (sixth, 132) and Broden O’Reilly (sixth, 215).
