Hubbs to retire from Memorial Health

The man responsible for guiding Memorial Hospital’s most prolific period of growth has announced plans to step down.

Memorial President and CEO Chip Hubbs, who joined the hospital in 2004, has announced his plans to retire in January of 2027. “Serving Memorial and our community with our team members and medical staff has been the honor of my career,” Hubbs said. “The time feels right to step away, spend more time with family and friends, and do some things I have always wanted to do.”

Hubbs’ announcement comes on the heels of the departure of longtime chief financial officer Jeff Ehlers who retired from Memorial at the end of 2025. But the depa…
