Workman appointed to government position

On Dec. 18, North Union alumni Jeremiah Workman was appointed as Assistant Secretary of Labor for Veterans’ Employment and Training Service (VETS) with a 53-43 vote in the Senate. Pictured above is Workman, at right, during a Senate hearing in July. Workman is a Marion native and former marine who earned a Navy Cross for his actions during Operation Phantom Fury in Fallujah, Iraq. VETS is a U.S. Department of Labor agency that assists veterans in finding jobs.
