NUMS provides year-end review

Administrative staff at the North Union Middle School (NUMS) gave statistics and first-hand accounts of growth in the school building to board of education members.

At the regular meeting of the board on Monday, NUMS Principal Nick Withrow said he broke down the building’s future goals to include academics and communication. Prior to breaking down the goals, Liz Hake, assistant principal, shared data on improvements to the school’s discipline in 2025.

“From the year before, we improved our ISS (in school suspension) time from 39 times to 32 times, out of school suspensions dropped from 81 to 42 times…and expulsions dropped from 18 times to one time,” Hake said. “I think the relationships that we built last year, …
