Food drive aims to provide assistance to senior pet owners in Union County area

An annual holiday food drive aims to collect chow donations to benefit seniors and their pets in Union County.

The 16th annual Alum Creek Dog Park Holiday Pet Food Drive runs from Saturday, Dec. 6 to Sunday Dec. 7 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the park located at 3992 Hollenback Road, Lewis Center. The food drive collects donations for Hospets, a non-profit group that assists low-income pet owners aged 60 and up residing in Union County. In 2025, the program will distribute approximately 7,200 pounds of pet food and 6,600 pounds of clumping kitty litter. The drive also collects donations for SourcePoint Meals on Wheels of Delaware County.
