Recovery Court marks 15 years

This year marks 15 years since the start of Union County’s drug recovery court program and since then, it has offered an alternative path for nearly 600 participants and increasing success rate.

For many people who have gone through the court, it has given them a second chance to get back on track and in many cases, to start from scratch.

“I would say the majority of them that come in don’t have anything,” said Judge Don Fraser, who has been with the program since its inception in 2010. “They don’t have a driver’s license, their relationship with their children and significant others, it’s just blown apart.”
