UCHD urges safe driving ahead of Labor Day

In support of the Safe Communities Coalition, the Union County Health Department is helping spread the word about the dangers of drinking and driving in advance of the Labor Day weekend.

From Aug. 15 through Sept. 1, the U.S. Department of Transportation’s National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) will be working alongside local enforcement partners for the Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over high-visibility enforcement campaign. The goal is to deter impaired driving and make roadways safer this Labor Day season.

From Aug. 1, 2024 to Aug. 1, 2025, alcohol was a factor in 46 crashes occurring in Union County.
