Mill Valley murder suspect ruled not competent to stand trial

The man charged in the Mill Valley murder case has been deemed unfit to stand trial.

According to a journal entry from the Union County Court of Common Pleas last week, Micaiah Immanuel Swindler – who is charged in the murder of his father – stood before the court in a mental evaluation hearing. His charges stem from an incident on April 21, 2025 at 1482 Meadowlark Lane where he allegedly stabbed his father to death and claimed that God told him to do it.

Union County Prosecutor David Phillips said that the court determines whether a defendant is mentally able to stand trial based on their present mental condition and ability to understand the proceedings to assist in their defense.
