UPDATE – Death penalty not on table in stabbing case

The death penalty is not a possibility in the murder case of the man who stabbed his father.

In the indictment of Micaiah Swindler, 27, of 1482 Meadowlark Lane, it was previously reported that Swindler could face death or be imprisoned for life as part of the aggravated murder charge against him. The initial report quoted information from Ohio Revised Code (ORC) section 2929.02 (A) on murder penalties, “whoever is convicted of or pleads guilty to aggravated murder in violation of section 2903.01 of the Revised Code shall suffer death or be imprisoned for life, as deter- mined pursuant to sections 2929.022, 2929.03 and 2929.04,” according to ORC.
