North Union’s baseball program is still searching for its first Central Buckeye Conference win.
The Wildcats defended their home field last Monday facing off against Indian Lake. The final 5-0 score in favor of the visiting Lakers handed North Union their fifth league loss of the season.
The team is also experiencing a nine-game losing streak.
The Wildcats notched six hits equaling Indian Lakes count. But the home squad also tallied three defensive errors while the Lakers had none.
Tyler Krebehenne and Jaxon Mabery tied for the most hits on the team with two each. Miles Marlette and Ashtin Haubiel accounted for one hit each.
On the mound, starting pitcher Haubiel notched seven strikeouts and five walks while allowing five runs on five hits. He pitched for just over five innings.
Austin McMahon took over pitching duties for the rest of the game with one hit put against him.
The Wildcats fall to 1-9 overall in the regular season.
