Wildcats suffer non-conference loss against Fairbanks during road game

At least for one game, the youth movement facing the Fairbanks baseball team in 2025 was right on track.

The Panthers have just two seniors on the team that took the field Tuesday for their season opener at North Union.

Backed by strong pitching from sophomore Carson Reames, some clutch hitting and taking advantage of North Union errors, Fairbanks posted an 8-3 win over the Wildcats.

“Our guys stayed aggressive on the base paths and forced some mistakes,” Fairbanks Head Coach Josh Rine said. “Our hitting came along to get some runs late.”

The biggest thing, however, was what Reames was able to do while he was on the mound.
