Nestle scraps $30M expansion

By By Kyle Meddles, Richwood Gazette

Nestle Company’s planned expansion in the city is being cancelled due to unexpected cost increases.

“We have reconsidered the planned relocation of our Nestle Quality Assurance Center (NQAC) in Dublin to our Marysville campus, which houses a Nestle Development Center (NDC),” a spokesperson at Nestle said in an email on Friday.

The expansion project was originally slated to cost Nestle $30 million via an investment into the NDC Marysville facility.

City Manager Terry Emery said that the costs for the expansion increased “exponentially” beyond what was expected to the point that the company had to “take a step back and determine what’s in the best interest of Nestle moving forward.”
