The clock tower strikes back

Richwood officials motioned to approve the purchase of a nearly $5,000 striker to hear the clock chime again on the Opera House.

At the regular meeting of village council on Monday, Village Administrator Monte Asher said that he called and reached out to Chime Master, a business that “manufactures, sells and installs electronic carillons and church bell ringing equipment” nationwide to churches, governmental buildings and other institutions, according to their website.

Asher said he asked them that “if we buy this striker and have it installed, that clock will chime?”

He said they replied: “What you got, it will work. If you put this in it will chime,” Asher said.
