Solar Project shutting down

Union County residents in opposition to solar facilities in the area are getting a small victory.

Lightsource BP said its solar project in the western side of the county will no longer be going forward.

County Administrator Bill Narducci told the county commissioners on Dec. 11 that he was contacted recently by the project’s development manager.

“She wanted to reach out and communicate that the project is no longer active. They’ve pulled that,” he said. “Outside of Richwood Solar that’s the project we had the most information on.”
