We will be closed on Thursday, Nov. 28 and Friday, Nov. 29 for Thanksgiving Break. Thanksgiving, while starting out as a celebration of thanks to God for the harvest, peace and prosperity that the people were experiencing, it did change over the years and become a time of thanks for ending of war and to heal the wounds of the nation. Today, Thanksgiving has lost much of its religious significance and instead it now centers on cooking and sharing a big meal with family and friends. Thanksgiving is my favorite time of year for several reasons.
