NU Board talks updating policy on bidding

North Union officials held a conflicting discussion about the importance of updating their policy on bidding requirements.

At the regular meeting of the board on Monday, officials held the first reading of policy recommendations from the Board Policy Committee, where Board President Brian Davis stressed that the policy on bidding requirements is outdated for what they are currently doing at North Union.

The current policy lists having a business manager to process purchase orders to bidders, but they don’t have a business manager in an official position.

Treasurer Scott Maruniak said he has a business manager license, but Davis said that the policy has both a business manager and treasurer listed, wher…
