Five bids submitted for county logjam cleanup project

Bids for the Mill Creek logjam project came in, giving Union County officials a range of amounts to consider.

County commissioners held a special bid opening on Friday, which marked the end of the 30-day window for appeals to the project’s approval to expire.

At the time of the bid opening, no appeals had been filed locally.

County officials received a total of five bids from companies around the state, ranging from $2 million to nearly $6 million, a price almost $2 million over the county’s projected cost of $3.9 million.

The lowest bid, submitted by H and H Land Clearing out of Middlefield, was $2,676,715. The …
