UCBDD levy going to ballot

The Union County Board of Developmental Disabilities will be on the ballot next month and its director, Kara Brown, said this levy is crucial for operations of the Harold Lewis Center.

“The levy is so important for us to be able to continue providing services the way we provide them today,” she said. “Without the money, we’ll no longer be able to fund the Harold Lewis Center preschool that has meant so much to so many young children in our community over the years.”

Brown told the county commissioners earlier this year that expenses are going higher than revenues and if the levy doesn’t pass, the board will be out nearly the same amount of money …
