Richwood Fair sees high turnout for 2024

This year’s Richwood Independent Fair saw big numbers in attendance and animal sales.

Cody Johnston, fair board president, said attendance numbers for the overall fair were around 15,000 people. He said the weather was favorable for the duration of the event.

Johnston said they had 218 buyers come to the livestock sale, with $420,000 in sales on animals.

“We had 250 kids, so thats over $1600 a kid basically (on) average,” Johnston said.

He said that every seat in the house was full for the rodeo on Thursday night.

He also mentioned they had over 1,500 fine arts entries for their arts shows, including the flower show.
