NU linksmen compete in weekend tournaments

The North Union boys golf team played in tournaments last Friday and Saturday.

In the Harding Invitational on Friday at the Marion Country Club, the Wildcats finished third but were just five shots back of first-place Pleasant.

The Wildcats finished with a score of 319 while Pleasant scored a 314 and Delaware Hayes finished second at 316.

Miles Hall and Ethan Monroe each had a 79 to lead North Union. Wyatt Davis and Jaxon Jolliff each had an 82.

In action on Saturday at Reid Park Golf Course, North Union finished sixth in the Shawnee David Christoff Memorial Tournament.

Under challenging windy conditions the Wildcats totaled 348.

Hall paced the Wildcats with a score of 83 and was followed by Monroe (86), Jolliff (87) and Reese Spriggs (92).
