Richwood looks at cost for Opera House demo

Richwood Council got an estimate back to demolish the Opera House while saving the clock and the tower.

At a previous meeting of Richwood Council, council member Brad Plotner said that he heard back from the crane company and the cost would be $468,510.

“Really the biggest expense is that there’s just so much of it to haul away,” Plotner said. “That’s bringing a crusher in from out of state to grind it.”

In the process, the crane company would lift the tower intact down to the ground, Plotner said.
