Richwood Park to get new security cameras

Richwood Council is getting security cameras to combat vandalism at the park.

At the regular village meeting on Monday, council motioned to approve the purchase of security cameras for the park after weeks of increased vandalism.

“There’s been vandalism again at the park,” Village Administrator Monte Asher said. “They stole a GFCI outlet and a twenty-amp breaker from the shelter house we just put in. (It) would’ve been nice to have a camera.”

This incident comes after a string of vandalism reports at the park. At the last meeting of council, Asher said 11 tires were dumped off in a shelter house. He also reported several incidents of vandals dirtying the bathrooms.
