NU talks title funding decrease

North Union saw a decrease in title funding this past year.

At the regular meeting of the school board on Monday, Chief Academic Officer Sandy Richards gave the curriculum report, which included numbers she found while working on the Consolidated Grant of students who qualify for economically disadvantaged or free and reduced numbers. Overall, the district has gone from 36.64% to 43.39%.

“I found these numbers to be a little bit alarming,” Richards said. “This is something we’ll want to keep track of.”

Richards said that using the numbers is how they determine title funding for the next school year and that the elementary school has always been their title building.
